Tower Engineering in Business Unit Power Solutions (VPS) is maintaining and developing the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural engineering over highly specialized FEM calculations, requirements specifications, DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation.
Tower Improvements & Options(I&O) is a sub-department of Tower Engineering. The department is responsible for design and certification of towers and foundations for our global project portfolio. The department is also responsible for project design and certification of tower internals. In addition, I&O cover the following activities: sourcing support, localization, engineering changes, request for non-standard products, support for production, cost reduction activities, non-conformities etc.
The team is responsible for all site-specific towers for the global project portfolio with main stakeholders across the globe.
The team is located in Chennai, India. The team consists of +15 highly skilled engineers with background in mechanical, aerospace and civil engineering. We are responsible for design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Responsibilities:

4.You will take part in the extended leadership team for the Chennai office and contribute on cross-functional improvement initiatives. Furthermore, you will have a central role in the process alignment between other I&O teams, i.e. Nacelle, Blades, Loads etc.
5.You must ensure and maintain good contact to a large number of global stakeholders throughout the value chain, such as Technology, Sales, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Service.
6.Responsible for the team performance. Ensure that direct reports have a clear understanding if they are progressing on their tasks as expected
7.Select, build and retain strong competences in the organization
8.Perform people management, i.e. competence development plans, target settings, recruitment etc.
9.Plan resource allocations, you are the overall responsible of inflow and output of the department
10.Establish, develop and maintain successful relations with internal and external stakeholders
11.Identify efficiency optimization in processes of your department
12.Drive alignment across the value chain to secure that the accepted level of product complexity is delivered
13.Balance operational tasks with short and long term strategy targets
14.Actively convert knowledge about quality, products, services and processes into business value through guidance and influenceQualifications:
1.Preferably 2 years management/project management experience from a large, international organization
2.Minimum, a Bachelor/Master Degree in relevant area e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering
3.Minimum of 8 years of working experience as Engineer
4.International working experience would be advantageous
5.Experience from the wind industry would be advantageousCompetencies
